VALHEN 2021 Scholarship Program $1,000 - $2,500February 12, 2021- Be of Latino/x or Hispanic Heritage - Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA (4.0 scale) - Be a high school senior or graduate of a Virginia high school and either have been accepted to, or be already enrolled, as a full-time undergraduate student, in a degree granting private or public VA college or university - Be able to demonstrate leadership through involvement in school, the local community, government, or non-profit organization, work/job duties, or in another manner not mentioned here - essays of 300-500 words are required for all applicants Link
The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Scholarship Program$1,000-$2,000February 15, 2021-applicants must live in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and enroll in the University of Maryland, George Mason University, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, University of Virginia, Northern Virginia Community College, and Montgomery College - Vietnamese heritage (preferred) --available to Vietnamese-American Students, U.S. citizens, permanent resident, and (3 Gold scholarships will be reserved for Vietnamese students from Vietnam) -Age 17-30 -Outstanding academic achievement -Strong leadership potential -Demonstrated active service to the Vietnamese-American community -Strong knowledge of Vietnamese History and Culture (including Vietnamese language) -Financial Need -Special consideration will be given to students with unique situations, for example: -low to moderate incomes -single parents returning to school to improve their families’ lives, or -students who are trying to recover from a past criminal record and improve their own livesLink
